IMAGINE IF JUST FOR A MOMENT
Imagine if just for a moment
The universe was balanced and calm
And every troubled country on this earth
Laid down its weapons and arms
Imagine if just for a moment
Enemies put war to an end
Crossed the barriers
Embraced each other and said
“From today onwards you will be my friend”
Imagine if just for a moment
Diseases were simple to cure
Illnesses like HIV/AIDS, TB and cancer
Would be eradicated
And cease to be anymore
Imagine if just for a moment
We felt the loss when a stranger died
And even though we didn’t know their name
We still cared enough to cry
Imagine if just for a moment
Poverty and hunger did not exist
And everyone shared as much as they could
And said, “I absolutely insist”
Imagine if just for a moment
Children could play outside without fear
Knowing that while they explored
And discovered new things
There was no evil lurking near
Imagine if just for a moment
Woman weren’t violated or abused
And words such as “human trafficking”
“Assault” and “rape”
Were removed from the dictionary
Because they were simply no longer used
Imagine if just for a moment
There were no animals on the endangered list
And the species that have now become extinct
To this very day would still exist
Imagine then just imagine
How balanced our universe would be
Because everything and everyone
Lived in perfect harmony
If only the imagination
Could make this dream a reality
Then this world that we all live in
Would be a happier place
For every single one of us to be
